Updates from our Resource Navigator

I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the beautiful weather we are experiencing this week.  Mobilize Katahdin continues to assist those who request help, and is reaching out to others to offer our services.  Several non-profit organizations have received assistance from Mobilize Katahdin to enable them to continue to do the good work they are involved with to help residents in need from the Katahdin region.

Members of the Mobilize Katahdin coalition continue to meet virtually each week to receive updates, discuss needs and brainstorm ways we can better serve those in need, and to spread the word of the services Mobilize Katahdin offers.  We are pleased to announce a new collaboration is forming with Eastern Area Agency on Aging to offer grocery shopping services for our residents age 60+ or who are disabled, and as soon as COVID-19 regulations allow, we will be incorporating transportation services for residents of the Katahdin region to assist with transportation needs.

Fundraising continues with support from Our Katahdin, as generous donations continue to be received to aid those in need with food, toiletries, fuel assistance, gasoline, grocery gift cards and any other immediate need that may arise now or in the future.

What We Accomplished Last Week . . .

  • A special THANK YOU to the Elks Lodge #1521 in Millinocket again for their generous donations of paper products, cleaning supplies, canned goods, and much more.  These items are going directly to families in the Katahdin region who are in need or can’t obtain them locally themselves.
  • We continue to collaborate with local agencies, and to support one another through information sharing regarding available resources.  This allows Mobilize Katahdin to have the ability to meet the needs, as well as reinforce crucial collaboration efforts.  This will help ensure residents receive assistance and their needs are being met in a timely and efficient way.
  • This week we have supplied 23 families (approximately 100 people) with heating fuel, grocery and gasoline gift cards and grocery deliveries to assist with social distancing regulations and help us all stay safe at home.

Spread the word to your friends, family and neighbors to contact Mobilize Katahdin with any request for assistance they may have, like and share us on Facebook, call us at (207) 370-1581 or visit our website for up-to-date information or to donate to our fund.  We look forward to making a difference with your continued support.

Thanks so much,
