Updates from our Resource Navigator

Mobilize Katahdin has added transportation to it’s services to assist Katahdin region residents in this much needed area that is lacking region wide.  Procedures and protocols are in place for the safety and well-being of both our volunteer drivers as well as riders.  Rides are offered free of charge to any Katahdin region resident anywhere within the region you’d like to go, such as doctor visits, social events, hair appointments, shopping, church or other places you need a ride. A 3 day or more advance notice is requested in order to assure your ride.

VOLUNTEERS DRIVERS NEEDED for our transportation services.  If you are interested in driving, please contact me at shelly@millinocketmemoriallibrary.org for more information on becoming a volunteer driver for Mobilize Katahdin.

Volunteer training continues, and a virtual meeting via Zoom takes place twice a month on the first and third Friday of each month at 8:30 a.m. to give volunteers an opportunity to connect, share ideas, offer feedback and to support one another.  Volunteers, we will use the same Zoom link for all volunteer trainings and meetings.  You can bookmark it for later, or you can always find it here if you need it:   https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89946559883

If you need, here are instructions on how to use ZoomMore Zoom resource and videos can be found here.

Some Things We Have Accomplished . . .

  • We continue to collaborate with local agencies, and to support one another by sharing information regarding available resources so we are better able to meet the needs of our residents, as well as reinforce our collaboration efforts.
  • Through a collaboration with Thrive Penobscot, Katahdin Collaborative, Katahdin Area Chamber of Commerce and Millinocket Regional Hospital, a face mask initiative was created to offer free face masks to anyone in need of a mask in the Katahdin region.
  • Rides to local vaccination clinics has been a successful endeavor in partnership with Millinocket Regional Hospital. If you need a ride to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, please give us a call at (207) 370-1581.

Spread the word to your friends, family and neighbors to contact Mobilize Katahdin with any request for assistance they may have, like and share us on Facebook, call us at (207) 370-1581 or visit our website for up-to-date information or to donate to our fund.  We look forward to making a difference with your continued support.

Thanks so much,

Shelly
